Welcome to The Little Artisan Bakery: Handmade sourdough, from my kitchen to your table.

Hi, I’m Caroline Marazzi — baker, founder, and the hands behind every loaf at The Little Artisan Bakery.

Where it all began...

My journey with sourdough started in 2019, during a workshop tucked away in the Devon countryside. Something about the rhythm of baking — the simplicity, the patience, the quiet transformation of flour, water, and salt — completely captivated me.

From home oven to community bakery....

In 2021, with the support of my friends and family, I decided to take a leap. I secured a small business loan and converted part of my home in Great Dunmow into a tiny micro bakery. I started sharing my bread on social media, and to my surprise, people responded with incredible warmth and enthusiasm.

What began with a few loaves a week quickly grew into something more. Local restaurants, cafés, farm shops, and village stores began placing orders. It was clear — people were hungry for real bread, made slowly and simply.

Growing with the dough...

By the summer of 2022, I had outgrown my home kitchen and moved the bakery to a new space on Sparlings Farm in Felsted. It's here that I continue to bake every loaf by hand, using the same slow-fermented methods that sparked my love for sourdough in the first place.

Bread with heart...

For me, sourdough is more than just bread — it's a living, breathing craft. It connects us to the land, to tradition, and to one another. Every loaf I bake is made with care, using just three ingredients: flour, water, and salt. No shortcuts, no additives — just time, skill, and love.

Thank you for supporting this little bakery and for choosing to eat real bread. I’m so grateful to be part of your table.

With warmth,

Caroline Marazzi x
